Who runs ContractClear
ContractClear is built and operated by Song Yarui, an independent software developer based in China. There is no team behind it and no investors — one person writes the code, answers the support email, and is accountable for what the product does.
Why it exists
Most of the world signs contracts written in a language they do not fully read. Employment offers, freelance agreements, leases and terms of service are drafted in legal English that even native speakers struggle with, and the person being asked to sign often has no realistic way to check what they are agreeing to. Paying a lawyer to review a routine rental agreement is not something most people can do.
ContractClear does not replace that lawyer. It does something smaller and more achievable: it tells you, in your own language, what the document says, which clauses are unusual or one-sided, and what to ask about before you sign. That is often the difference between signing blind and signing informed.
What we deliberately do not do
- We do not store your contracts. Contract text is relayed to the model and returned to your browser; it is never written to a database or to our logs.
- We do not ask for an account, an email address, or a sign-in to use the free tier.
- We do not sell data, run advertising, or embed analytics or tracking scripts on this site.
- We do not claim to give legal advice, and we say so on every page rather than in the fine print.
